Q: What does this announcement mean?
A: This fall, we’re introducing an upgraded comiXology app along with a new way to shop for comiXology digital comics and manga on Amazon.com. Our upgraded comiXology app will feature flexible filtering and sorting, new book navigation features, faster, more reliable downloads, read-while-downloading, and instant reading on Android devices. A revamped digital comics shopping experience on Amazon (replacing and redirecting from comiXology.com to Amazon this fall) where you'll be able to shop, borrow and buy to read on either the comiXology or Kindle app, with access to all our reading membership programs in one place. You can visit the new experience today as we continue to improve and bring new features online. ComiXology purchases will also finally be readable on the Kindle app, too! Not only that, but in addition to comiXology Unlimited for members in the US, Amazon Prime and Kindle Unlimited members will be able to read their borrows right from our updated app. Stay tuned in the comings months for more information.
Q: What do I need to do to get ready?
A: If you use your Amazon login on comiXology, you’re already done! Once this enhanced reading and shopping experience is released, you will need an Amazon account to continue using comiXology. If you don’t already use an Amazon account to log-in, you can merge your comiXology login right here.
Q: When can I read my comiXology purchases on the Kindle app?
A: Soon! We’ll be sending out emails to customers in the coming weeks letting them know when they can enable comiXology purchases to appear in their Kindle apps. (It won’t be on by default, don’t worry.) Stay tuned to our social media accounts and comiXology emails for the official launch of this new feature on the Kindle app.
Q: How will my Series Subscriptions, Pre-Orders, and eGift Card Credit migrate to Amazon?
A: Don’t worry! We’ve been working to make this as seamless as possible. Before we start redirecting customers from comixology.com to the revamped digital comics shopping experience on Amazon.com in the fall, we’ll email you about our plans for your Series Subscriptions, Pre-Orders, and eGift Card Credit.
Q: When is the new app update and storefront coming?
A: This fall! Stay tuned to our social channels and comiXology emails for the official announcement. Don't forget, you can visit the new experience today as we continue to improve and bring new features online.
Q: How do I merge my Amazon and comiXology accounts?
A: It’s easy! If you don’t already use an Amazon login to access comiXology, head on over to our merge page and follow the instructions. After that’s done, you’ll use your Amazon login moving forward on comiXology. If you still have questions you can connect with our support team using our Contact Us page.
Q: Is there a beta experience I can join?
A: Invitations to test our new comiXology experience are currently closed so sit tight until the fall for the official app release!
Q: Will I still be able to contact comiXology Support in the fall?
A: Yep, we’re not going anywhere! You can chat with us over email and on Twitter like always and in the fall you’ll have a few new options, too. You’ll be able to live-chat and get comiXology support over the phone to help you out faster than ever before!
Q: Can I just keep using the current app in the fall?
A: The current comiXology app will no longer be supported in the fall. You'll receive an update to the new experience. The new app is a complete overhaul and includes your Kindle Comics, Prime Reading borrows, and Kindle Unlimited comic borrows, too. Soon after launch, however, the older app will not work anymore.
Q: What is happening with comiXology Unlimited?
A: Customers in the US can still enjoy the benefits of their CU subscriptions. Not only that, but Prime Reading and Kindle Unlimited members can read their borrows inside our app once the update is released, too. Keep in mind comiXology Unlimited is already available inside of Kindle apps and on Amazon.com (NoteL Prime Reading and Kindle Unlimited are available outside of the US in select territories.)
Q: When is comiXology Unlimited going to be available in my country?
A: We know this is a popular request but we don’t have anything to announce just yet. The good news is that right now Kindle Unlimited and Prime Reading are available outside of the US. Once the app update is released those borrows will sync for reading in both your Kindle and comiXology app. There are over 5,000 comics, manga, and graphic novels available in KU today, including all of our comiXology Originals comics.
Q: Are you still going to run sales and discounts?
Q: Will comics be translated to my language?
A: We don't translate books ourselves. We only provide comics in the language(s) provided to us by creators and publishers.
Q: If I purchase on my country site, will the books be available to read in the library of CMX-b app?
A: Yes, currently customers outside of the US can buy on their site, and see the comics in their library. If you don’t see it in your app, then refresh the comiXology app.
Q: Will I be seeing these changes in my country (outside the US)?
A: Each comiXology website will be redirecting to the local Amazon marketplace. More news to share soon.
Q: Where did pre-orders go on comixology.com?
A: With our team-up coming in the fall, you won't be able to pre-order upcoming comics on comiXology. Not to worry, though, you can pre-order those comics, graphic novels, and manga on Amazon and once released, those will automatically become available to read in your comiXology library.
